Job Overview
Position: Family Medicine, General Practice

Currently searching and hiring Family Physicians

Site: Oya Medical Centre

Work location: 170-115 Vermillion Road, Winnipeg, MB R2J 4A9

Oya Medical Centre is in the heart of Southdale Centre. We are a family practice and walk-in medical clinic. Our clinic includes 5 exam rooms, a spacious minor surgery room, and a welcoming reception area.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Medicine Physician to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, ensuring high-quality patient care, and promoting overall wellness. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various medical disciplines, including acute care, pediatrics, pain management, and home care, with experience in hospital settings and medical office environments. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on community health through patient-centered care and collaborative practice.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including history-taking and physical examinations
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses across diverse patient populations
  • Administer medications and oversee medication management plans
  • Provide preventive care, health education, and counseling to patients and families
  • Coordinate with specialists for referrals and follow-up care as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation using electronic health records systems such as Accuro or Inputheath.
  • Collect data for quality improvement initiatives and research projects
  • Assist in medical office tasks including scheduling, patient communication, and compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Stay current with medical terminology updates, clinical guidelines, and best practices in family medicine

Requirements

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution with active licensure as a Family Medicine Physician
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and clinical procedures
  • Experience with electronic health record systems such as Epic and Cerner is preferred
  • Strong skills in data collection, research, and quality improvement processes
  • Ability to handle diverse cases including pediatrics, pain management, acute care, and home health services
  • Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and team collaboration
  • Prior experience in medical office operations is advantageous
  • Commitment to providing compassionate patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree and current license to practice medicine in the Province of Manitoba
  • Proficiency in the use of basic computer applications
  • Ability to work within a respected, professional, and cultural environment
